Language is very important in every sphere of human endeavour, because it is a veritable tool for communication. Virtually all professions rely heavily on language to be able to disseminate information relating to their fields across to their prospective audience. Government policies are expressed through language. The ideas expressed could either be written or oral. Thus, the contributions of the Arts in society’s development are clearly apparent because a society without language cannot truly exist, much more develop. Different fields of arts like music, literature and painting also help to put the human mind at peace through their entertainment values. And when the individuals that populate a given society are at peace, the productivity level of their business engagements goes higher, all geared towards national growth and development. The major concern of this paper, therefore, is to explore the importance of Language and technical education in entrepreneurship. Part of the problem of the Nigerian entrepreneur is the way he employs Language in the marketing of his goods and services (sales communication). Because he is not proficient in the proper use of language, there tends to be low sales of his goods and services. Coupled with this, is the dearth of technical education that equips him or his employees, for the production of quality goods. The twin problems of improper language use and dearth of technical education put the Nigerian entrepreneur in a quandary. This paper gives a detailed study of language and the way it should be employed to help the entrepreneur in the production and marketing of goods and services. The paper briefly discusses technical education and then clearly shows how both positively affect the entrepreneur. The researcher used linguistic approach in discussing the methods and processes the entrepreneur should employ to achieve better sales and services. The paper establishes that through better knowledge of language and its proper application in sales communication, and through proper acquisition of technical know-how, the entrepreneur in Nigeria fares better and his economic growth will definitely rub-off on national development.
